Mr Garnham
‘Mr Garnham played the dulcimer with very good effect’ at a Fathers’ meeting in the Reading Room in Garboldisham. (Diss Express, 25.11.1898)
Genealogical research has returned only one likely person: William James Garnham (1860-1952). He was a carpenter and joiner and was followed into this trade by a couple of his sons, however they would all have been too young to be the person mentioned in 1898. As a skilled craftsman, it’s fairly likely that William Garnham would have made his own dulcimer.
