George Blowers (1909-1982)
In 2019 we were contacted by the grandson of George William Blowers, who had three dulcimers which belonged to his maternal grandfather. There were two old ones – one in original condition and one that George had restored – and one that he had built himself in his workshop at home in Snettisham in the 1970s when he had retired.
George had been a blacksmith and carrier, originally from Norwich, but then apprenticed to a blacksmith in King’s Lynn. He and his wife later kept the Ship Inn in Ingoldisthorpe from 1954 until its closure in 1970.

Unfortunately we have not been able to learn of any family memories about George playing the dulcimer.
